There are many titles about Africa's development. The present title centers on the ideas of the Nigerian Political Theorist, Claude Ake. His idea that there is not yet a development agenda in Africa and therefore there is not yet a development failure serves as a window with which to view the development debate in Africa. The book summits that for development to be achieved in Africa, an integral idea of development must be sought not only through the neo-liberal world view but from world views that are people oriented. Consequently, African cultures and worldviews must play a part in the pursuit of development on the continent.
