The aim of this book is to contribute to the knowledge of how Finnish multinational companies do business in Brazil, with a perspective of local subsidiary employees. Differences in local business and cultural context are in this case, the catalyst to look at the management practises of Finnish MNCs active in Brazil. The theoretic part concentrates on studying management from the part of control, business communication within the MNC, as well as cultural traits in Brazil and Finland. In a time where emerging markets gain importance for MNCs, and lead in growth, this study speaks for the knowledge that lies within the local subsidiary, business, and cultural context. Awareness and understanding of the former are crucial to empower strategically sound management practises as well as facilitate decision making.
