The work is based on the research conducted by the authors to compare the achievement of intermediate students across gender and discipline for the academic session 2009-2011 in Rawalpindi Board. The first chapter presents the rationale and the method, the second and the third chapters are to explain the context, this will help the reader to answer the questions like why the students and the teachers are more score oriented, it also highlights the policies and the plans regarding examinations as followed by the Pakistani government. The reader may got the in depth understanding of the different disciplines of education as followed by the educationist. Between the lines there is a message for the novice researchers that how to conduct the research and importance of the appropriate research and analysis techniques. research methods and the procedures are discussed in fourth chapter, whereas it is followed by the facts, figures and generation of meanings from the numbers and indices. the last and the final thought also contain the valuable information for the educationist and hints for the future researchers.
