There are many factors which affect the quality of education. One of these factors is assessment. Teachers employ different techniques of assessment in order to make decisions about students and their instructional management. The soundness of the decisions made depend on the quality of tests. In our educational system, the promotion of students from one grade level to the next; repetition in the same grade level in their schooling are determined by the achievements of students measured by classroom or teacher-made tests. To construct quality tests, application of principles and suggestions of item writing is a very determinant factor.
