Critical and emergency situations permeate all sectors of the hospital; however they mostly occur in the Emergency Room and in the Intensive Care Units. Such settings are marked by severe physical and emotional pain; all sorts of limitations; unforeseeable events; death and loss experiences. These experiences generate such distress that surpasses the restraints threshold of the actors in this play – patients, family members and the health team – therefore creating the need for a psychological intervention.
