Although research has been conducted on determiners as a theoretical subject, little exists by way of studies on how to identify strategies and resources for teaching the translation of this important word class. In this work, we have attempted to: 1) identify difficulties encountered by students in the use of determiners. 2) relate difficulties observed to students’ profile, 3) develop resources for teaching and learning determiners to address observed difficulties. and 4) propose an information technology platform for delivering these resources. Based on the results of our analysis, we have developed resources for teaching and learning the translation of determiners in English and French in an Information Technology environment. Being a tool students can use on their own, the courseware will encourage self-learning and facilitate practice of points seen in class.
