To evaluate the growth performance and immune response in broilers with dietary inclusion of zinc in inorganic and organic form, a study was conducted on two hundred and eighty eight (288) day old male broiler (Vencobb ) chicks fed on maize, soybean meal and fish meal diet with zinc sulphate supplementation at various levels of inclusions. All the birds were fed on basal diet without zinc supplementation for one week to deplete the body zinc reserves. Starter and finisher diets were formulated and fed. The FCR, carcass yields, the NDV titers, SRBC titers and CMI index were studied. The immune response was better with zinc methionine supplementation. The growth performance, bioavailability of zinc and immune response increased with increase in zinc supplementation in the form of zinc sulphate and zinc methionine of which zinc methionine showed better performance. The birds fed with 60mg/ kg diet with zinc sulphate and 40mg/kg diet zinc methionine supplementation can produce better growth and immune response.
