The public healthcare system consists of healthcare facilities run by central and state government which provide services free of cost or at a subsidized rates to low income group in rural and urban areas. With the Indian economy enjoying a steady growth, the industry is heading towards growth phase. "There has been an upward swing in personal expenditure on healthcare. The Indian consumer is getting more and more concerned about his health, and retail would help provide the consumer with greater choice."
