50 Years in 40 Months. St. Thomas Aquinas celebrated its 50th anniversary in October of 2012. This is the story of the Catholic Campus Center’s impact on the region of Western Kentucky and surrounding areas. The premise of this thesis is built on faith in God, as the main title clearly indicates, for it was through His Divine Mercy that this project came to fruition. Through the communities that John experienced growing up, he paints a picture of love and life that is hard to deny, and through the story of the “Newman Center”, the first official Life Report is born. When he attended his freshman orientation at WKU in June of 2009, Fr. Mike Williams had just arrived as the new pastor of the center. At that climactic Jubilee at the end of 2012, 40 months had come and gone. As John experienced most thoroughly in his dealings with this project, the intensity of such moments reinforced the very foundation upon which the center was built. As the first pastor Fr. William Allard once said, “To Love is to give Life.” Let such beauty and simplicity dictate our faith and hope in God from this day forward!
