With the advancements of technologies in the field of communication, various applications based on reconfigurable patch antenna with low cost and compact size have come up. Patch antennas are one of the most attractive antennas designed for radio wave frequency. The other important feature for an antenna is its tunability. A design of liquid crystal based patch antenna with optimum performance at 10GHz is investigated. The procedure could be extended to design other planar antennas that act in a similar way.
