In their novels they depict race and cultural conflicts, hunger and degradation, rootlessness, politics, human relationship, sexual perversion as factors working in the form of barriers of communication. the sense of involvement in social life of africa, their keen observation with critical acumen, brought international fame with the publication of their books.
