This work is based on a project undertaken at The University of Basque Country, Donostia - San Sebastian, Spain in 2014. The work in carried out in organic chemistry lab. It was thought and shown that DNA in its raw form act as catalyst for certain organic reactions at low temperature in aqueous media. Owing to its abundance, low temperature operation, action in water and cheap price, it is a promising candidate for future generation of catalysts for organic reactions. The aim and tasks of present project are concentrated around establishing standard operating procedure and criteria for carrying out the reaction. Successful results were obtained and presented.
