Out of all the resources employed in Construction Industry, the Human Resource is one of the dynamic and a life giving resource to construction projects. In today''s competitive environment personnel with adequate and appropriate skill and competence are hard to find. Due to lack of variety and challenges in the existing job, the personnel tend to change the jobs frequently. This leads to job dissatisfaction and lack of growth, of the personnel as well as organization. To change this perception it is important the Human Resource is considered as an Asset and suitable Human Resource Development processes are designed and implemented. Performance Appraisal System is one such HRD intervention which helps the personnel in sustaining interest in the job and encourage them to highlight their creative talents for self development as well as development of the organization.
