Mungbean(Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) is the most important pulse crop in tropical and sub-tropical regions belonging to the family Leguminosae, sub-family Papilionaceae. It contains 51% carbohydrate,26% protein,4% minerals,3% vitamins. Mungbean is a popular pulse crop in Indian subcontinent as a food & fodder crop. In Bangladesh,seeds of mungbean are mainly consumed as soup but in many parts of the world, mungbean consumed in various ways such as drinks,cookies,snakes etc. Sprouted mungbean seeds are consumed as vegetables.
