In order to assess the residue levels of insecticides in fresh fruits, grain, vegetable grains, 68 samples were collected from two main markets and different district of Karnataka State. On the basis our purpose the samples were extracted in acetonitrile, acetone and n-hexane. The extracts were cleaned up through Florisil column with petroleum ether +diethyl ether, n-hexane + acetone and dichloromethane+ acetone as eluent and were analyzed for residues. GC/ECD method was used for analysis of insecticide residues in fruits, grainsFor synthetic pyrethroid and OC a 25, 20 and 50 g well homogenized samples were spiked with known amounts of standard insecticides each at 0.1, 0.01(Mango), 0.1, 0.01(Grape) and 1.0, 0.1 and 0.01 mg/kg levels (grain) respectively. For each spiking level, two (grapes), three (Mango) and two (grain) replicates were extracted with n-hexane: acetone (1+1) for grapes, acetonitrile (Mango, grain) and cleaned up on Florosil column and analyzed by GC using ECD.
