Population explosion and human activities have increased the release of heavy metals into the environment. Contamination of soil, water and air has directly and indirectly affected health and environment. Heavy metal contamination is deleterious and remediation has become inevitable Cadmium and lead have synergistic action and their pollution level are in the increase. Phytoremediation has economic feasibility, agronomical value, is consistent and safe . This book gives an insight in using plant biomass as remediator for cadmium and lead contamination.
