The challenge in today’s competitive markets is to be on the leading edge of producing high quality products at min cost. This cannot be done without a systematic approach and this approach is contained within what has been called “Statistical Quality Control” or “Industrial Statistics.” The segment of statistical quality control discussed here is the process capability study. The case study attempts to make use of statistical quality control tools to bring quality improvements.The data has taken from ongoing process product (Bib Cock) of LIDER. LIDER is a top quality bath fitting manufacturing company in India. Statistical Quality Control tools have been applied to find out problems and their solutions. Control charts have been designed and implemented.Process Capability study has been carried out to find the actual capability of the process. The quality improvements have been verified in quantitative form and certain corrective actions recommended to rectifying the causes for variation in bore diameter quality characteristic of Bib Cock. So,we have come to some conclusion, which will be beneficial to the organization to beat its competitors with high quality products at min cost.
