Development of a country depends on education of its citizen. For ensuring free and compulsory education for all children up to the age of 14 years,India has made enormous effort. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) launched during 2000,is a mission which makes an effort to universalize access of children to the school and enroll them into the system so as to retain them in schools including emphasizing on quality education at elementary level. The present book based upon research findings presents about problems in execution of SSA interventions . Teaching learning materials plays pivotal role in class room situation.Still teachers exhibited lack of interest with regard to use of teaching learning materials.Infrastructural development is quite spectacular in SSA schools,free uniform to girls and scholarship to SC & ST students have been provided as a special incentive by the state government.The inherent problems need to be weed out through combined effort of all the personnel.The book suggests finer cooperation among the different personnel to make the system stronger and improve quality of elementary education in the country.
