The North-Western Region of Bangladesh is situated in the river basin of Tista and Jamuna, and contains many tributaries of these. This region is under the Rangpur division .The local economy is heavily dependent on agriculture .The region is famous for wheat production area. The soils of this region are sandy and sandy loam. The area is also famous for archaeological site. It is said that Bhitargarh is largest archaeological site (exacerbation going on ) of South Asia. The historical place Kantaji Temple and Tajhat Jamider Bari are famous and every day hundreds of people visit these .The Ramsagar , the Nilsagar and Maharaja Dhigi bear the history of this area. The Teesta barrage and Enclaves of this region is always a hot issue.
