Nutrition is a large and vital part of all medical sciences. Nutrition is an integral component of oral health. The relationship between nutrition and oral health is multifaceted. Nutrition has both local and systemic impacts on the oral cavity. Just as oral diseases can affect diet and nutrition, diet and nutrition, in turn, may affect the development and progression of diseases of the oral cavity.
