Seismic Microzonation falls into the category of “Applied research”. Very preliminary process of reducing the effects of earthquake is by assessing the hazard itself. GIS is a very powerful tool for handling and processing of spatial and non-spatial data. The district has been divided in to 5 zones such as very high, high, moderate, less moderate and least based on the possible threat to earthquakes. The vulnerability of the major locations is reported.
