Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, NSAIDs, from the carboxylic acid family, derivatives of N-phenylanthranilic acid, such as tolfenamic acid, diclofenac, mefenamic, flufenamic, and from the oxicams family, piroxicam, tenoxicam, meloxicam and lornoxicam, are widely used in inflammatory and painful diseases of rheumatic and non-rheumatic origin. The anti-inflammatory activity of NSAIDs and most of its other pharmacological effects are related to the inhibition of the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins, which are mediators of the inflammatory process. NSAIDs are used for the treatment of some famous and common diseases. So This work concerned with the analysis of some Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory drugs which used as Anti-Inflammatory, Antirheumatic, Analgesic and Antipyretic for rheumatism. The drugs under investigation are Piroxicam, Tenoxicam, Meloxicam and Lornoxicam . So the aim of this work is develop simple, rapid, accurate and sensitive spectrophotometric method for determination of the studied drugs in pure forms and in pharmaceutical preparations.
