Nowadays politics are mainly experienced via mass media. The popular press is an important player in this mass media business. The paper demonstrates the reflection of the EU in relation to the economic crisis and the integration process in the popular press. It explains the power of mass media and of the popular press in particular as reality constructing institutions. For this paper the in 2010 mass media’s reflection of the EU had been recorded and examined. Because of their principal differences in the EU accession processes, different geographical locations as well as different cultural and economical situations, as proband countries had been analyzed Germany, the UK, Spain and Poland.
