With the urgent needs of English communication at tourism field, English courses in tourism-related colleges are expected to be more practical and applicable. However,it looks like there is an gap between what industry needs and what students have learned in the classes. Based on the investigation of the research, the results revealed that students have difficulties to apply what they've learned at work. Meanwhile, the employers of international hotels expressed that they are not satisfied with their employees' English performance at the positions. They gave some suggestions that is helpful to improve the practicability for tourism English courses.
