The use of MSN messenger as a mode of communication: a sociological analysis concerns an explorative research which anticipates exploring the socio- demographic characteristics of those who use the MSN Messenger, the frequency and the intensity of the use, the users'' perceptions of this mode of communication and their perceptions regarding time and space compression, which supposedly happens when computer mediated communication takes place. The research consists of three sections. In the methods section are presented the adopted research methods and the reasons for these choices. Next are presented separately and analytically the findings generated from the internet survey and the in-depth interviews. Finally, in the last section is placed the discussion regarding the findings.
