Airborne laser scanning (ALS) as a new technology has an enormous effect on data acquisition. Due to huge amount of collected data, an automatic model for analysing data is important in case of saving time, energy and cost. ALS data from forestial areas are considered as a significant data source for performing an automatic estimation of tree attributes. In this book, by applying some mathematical and geometrical methods on laser point clouds, author tries to detect all the individual trees and classify their species in study area. To identify the species, fuzzy logic system is used for combining the output of several methods. All steps are coded in MATLAB and results are verified by field measurement and compared with technical software.
